Terms of Service
The terms that govern your use of MetrosPress as a reader, publisher, journalist or business.
Effective date: 20 July 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MetrosPress (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Accounts
You must provide accurate information at sign-up. New accounts require approval by the MetrosPress team before access is granted. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
2. Roles
The Service supports Publisher / PR Agency, Business, Journalist and Subscriber roles. Features available to you depend on your role and the package assigned to your account.
3. Content you submit
You retain ownership of press releases, images, bios and client profiles you submit.
You grant MetrosPress a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, distribute and syndicate that content on the platform and its channels.
You warrant that you have the rights to the content, that it is accurate and lawful, and that it does not infringe any third party's rights.
Key facts and client profiles cannot be edited after submission — check them carefully before submitting.
4. Editorial discretion
MetrosPress may accept, reject, edit, unpublish or remove any submission at its sole discretion, particularly where content is misleading, defamatory, unlawful or off-brand.
5. Packages, quotas and payment
Publishing accounts are subject to a package that controls monthly quotas and feature access, including post edits, featured placements, boosts, banners, PR support and post-blast credits. Package changes and boost requests are billed by invoice; access is provided once payment is received.
6. Acceptable use
No spam, malware, scraping or attempts to defeat platform security.
No hate speech, harassment, defamation or content that violates South African law.
No impersonation of another person or organisation.
External URLs inside articles are permitted only where your package allows.
7. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third-party providers (email delivery, analytics, hosting). Their terms may also apply.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.
9. Disclaimer & liability
The Service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, MetrosPress excludes all warranties and limits its liability to the fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Gauteng.
