FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THE SOBERFEST FESTIVAL TO BRING FAMILIES TOGETHER FOR A DAY OF WELLNESS, MUSIC AND CONNECTION THIS DECEMBER
Johannesburg, South Africa – Friday, 23 October 2026 — Families looking for a different way to spend time together this December will have a new option when The SoberFest Festival takes place at Kyalami Venue in Midrand on Saturday, 5 December 2026.
The inaugural festival will bring together families, teenagers, young professionals, creatives and community members for a day centred on music, food, creativity, wellness and connection. From live music and DJs to interactive creative activities, games, movement, fitness, cultural experiences and alcohol-free beverages, The SoberFest has been designed to offer something for different generations to enjoy in the same space.
The festival forms part of the launch of The SoberFest, a new movement focused on creating more opportunities for people to connect, socialise and celebrate through experiences that promote wellness, creativity and community.
A key feature of the festival is its focus on experiences that extend beyond the event itself. Guests will be able to participate in activities ranging from arts and crafts, wellness, food and mocktail experiences. Younger guests will also have dedicated spaces designed around their interests. The Kids’ Corner will offer activities including face painting, crafts, storytelling, mini sports and kids’ mocktails, while the Teen Zone will feature experiences such as sneaker customisation, gaming and coding.
The festival's alcohol-free format is part of its wider approach to creating a social environment where families and different generations can enjoy entertainment and shared experiences together. Rather than positioning the event around what people should or should not do, The SoberFest aims to demonstrate the range of activities and experiences that can bring people together.
The first edition is being deliberately kept intimate, with an expectation of 250 guests allowing organisers to engage directly with guests and gather feedback that will inform future editions of the festival and its planned expansion into other communities.
