

The 5th annual WOMEN, The Real Architects of Society toasts Women Hood
The outstanding contributions made by women in the world of business, community and leadership were celebrated at the 5th Annual Women the Real Architects of Society held at the Theatre on the Track in Midrand on Saturday, 22 August. The gala dinner celebrating women’s achievements was organized by Former Miss South Africa Joan Ramagoshi Madibeng, who presented the keynote speech recognizing women’s excellence while highlighting the efforts made by women in various sectors of the community.
The evening’s themed “Women united in moving SA forward” #MakeitHappen kicked off with a grandiloquence performance by host, Poet Lebo Mashile who serenaded audiences with a poem entitled “WHAT KIND OF A WOMEN” ensuing a thunderous applaud from women in attendance.
The gala dinner filled with a generosity of culinary, dancing, singing and fashion featured an echelon of speakers who graced the opal stage celebrating the unsung heroines. They included business leader Dr Anna Mokgokong who expressed that women should be respected not for their power but their strength. She was seconded by Professor De La Rey who emphasised on the importance of women in academic and gender diversity in boardrooms. Whilst International guest SAP general manager Isabella Groegor-Cechowicz engaged women in exploring and taking leadership roles in the Technology space. The last speaker for the evening, Metro FM presenter Thami Ngubeni enthralled guests with the evening theme of “women making it happen”.
“It is exciting to see women across society converging under one roof, this evening is about celebrating women who made strides and sacrifices in the past and how we as women of the future can learn from them and advance the country forward,” said Joan Ramagoshi Madibeng Founder and Creative Director of Women, The Real Architects of Society.
Special Awards were given to five phenomenal women for dedicating their craft to the upliftmemt of women in society, one of the receipted included 2012 SA Got Talent winner poet Botlhale Boikanyo from the Province of Bokone Bophirima.
South Africa’s First lady Thobeka Madiba Zuma in absentia, closed the gala dinner with a recorded message thanking Joan Ramagoshi Madibeng for her support and passion in championing women’s issues in our communities. The 5th annual Women, The Real Architects of Society ended with a surprise performance by two times SAMA winner R&B Singer Donald.

ABOUT JOAN RAMAGOSHI MADIBENG
Joan Ramagoshi Madibeng is a former Miss South Africa and businesswoman. She has been at the helm of Communications in Soccer, having worked for one of South Africa’s celebrated soccer club Mamelodi Sundowns FC as head of Marketing. Madibeng is a co-founder of RBJ Marketing, Director of Terra De Africa, Philanthropist, Brand consultant, Motivational speaker and most of all a wife and mother to two beautiful children.
