Cornet: Awaiting to explode the entertainment industry
At just the age of 25, Cornet has achieved a lot and as twice as his peers. Apart from acting, he’s now an aspiring young businessman who plans events of a very high calibre. One of the event they recently pulled off was Solid Friends, which was astounding and full of local young super stars from different categories of entertainment industry. This created an exciting vibe as the setting of the whole event was chilled and calm. Beautiful music playing in the background and there was a lot of space for those who love hitting the heated dance floor.
If there’s one thing Cornet can pull and be more fun than a barrel of monkeys is an event, regardless of its nature or class. It might seem as if everyone is venting to this event organizing shebang but it differs on how you do it, is it all about the money or giving people a good time. One thing we love about his events is that he avails himself to the crowd, talk to people and interact with them, which no one has done it before. He is just the soul and life of the party, down to earth indeed.
One of the events we scored an invite to, was prestigious solid friend’s event which was held in Midrand, Motswako lounge couple of weeks ago, now being followed by the Self Legacy Gala dinner, which will be held in Allendale ext 14 in Midrand, Swortail Street on the 31st of October. The experience we had in Solid Friends chillas makes us ants in one’s pants about the gala dinner. One thing I can say about this one is that it will be high class as many prominent faces are expected to fill up the venue.
Solid friends, a concept organised by CnB events, Cornet ‘T-bos Mamabolo and Buhle Maseko are the masterminds behind the whole idea, which is made possible by K.G Mokgale and Mlamuli Maloyi. The whole idea behind the concept is to create a social environment basically to get young people under one space and share ideas. You find people operating in different fields, which alone makes the event unique and exhilarating to be part of. “An inspiration for us to come up with such unique concept arose from seeing that our fans get really excited when they see us or people get thrilled when they see their favourite celebrity, but they don’t get that chance of just sitting and chilling with the” said Cornet
Gratifying turn up it was as the place was packed with fun, youngsters who happen to be fun lovers. Cooler boxes were out and filled with all kinds of thirst quenchers, thanks to the sun that was warm as Indian summer; welcoming spring. Some came for the music, some for socialising and oh well, some came for pictures and autographs. We can’t really blame them as this event was filled with prominent faces . In some of the who’s who list was our very own skeem saam cast, the likes of, Lerato Marabe (Pretty Seakamela) who is very pretty and sweet, Masilo Magoro (charles Kunutu),he got all of us entertained with his dance floor crazy gits, John Morapama (Alfred Magongwa)who is a very laid back guy and Mlungisi Mathe (M.K) who got all the ladies melting.
Thabiso Cornet Mamabolo plays the role of T-bos in skeem saam that is aired daily from Monday to Friday at 18:30 on SABC1 together with Buhle Maseko (Nimrod kunutu) are colleagues who also happens to be good old friends. They came together and formed C&B. it is very comforting to know these two are not just ravishing faces, but they are brilliant and natural intellects as well, no wonder why young women stay glued to their screens whenever Skeem Saam is playing: not to mention aficionados who fell left, right and centre. Thabiso aka Cornet gave his fans a chance to know him better as he gave them all of his time from dancing with them to taking videos with them: tearing the dance floor, thanks to face time which gave him an opportunity to share such moments with his enthusiasts. One thing I can say, his servile behaviour will get him far in life.
“We wanted to create that atmosphere and channel to interact with our fans” said Cornet. CnB host several events such as breakfast chillas, the pubs and solid friends, etc. As he celebrated his birthday on the 10th of August, he decided to call some of his closest friends and do what no one has done before, a birthday tour. Few cities were visited and quite a turn it was. This year they will be hosting their first annual Self Legacy Gala dinner as it is set to have prominent faces. The aim of this event is to award all those who supported Thabo’s events and made them possible. After the classy ceremony, then the after party will go on until the morning.
His popular projects include Revolution Between My Thighs, a story about human trafficking, and Zimbo!, which toured Africa in 2011 and went to the US in the same year. Mamabolo is also the founder of a youth empowerment project called Cornet M Foundation. His project includes an outreach programme aimed at motivating learners to stay in school. He also donates clothes and give them to needy.
This prestigious event is held after every 2 months in different locations as last year it was held in Limpopo. Such paramount events make it easy for people to communicate on informal grounds and create contacts on such ground. Reality is not all of us find it easy to talk to a big shot corporate CEO, one will think twice before introducing himself but such platforms make it more simple and easy. Young people can take this opportunity and use it as a networking time and creating contacts. I, personally met a lot of interesting people and most of the discussion wasn’t only about work, but just about life in general and future goals.
