Biggest and best 2020 FORBES WOMAN AFRICA Leading Women Summit sets the bar high for 2021
The impactful speaker line-up and leading-edge content, discussions and networking at the 5th annual FORBES WOMAN AFRICA Leading Women Summit brought great value to all who attended – from attendees to market place exhibitors to event sponsors.
For the second time, the event was hosted by the KwaZulu-Natal government at Inkosi Albert Luthuli ICC Complex in Durban on Friday, 6 March 2020. Building on the success of 2019, this year’s event attracted an audience of over 1,000 delegates, many travelling from far afield to listen to a pan-African cast of prominent speakers from Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Rwanda, Botswana and South Africa.
With the theme ‘The Ceiling Crashers 2.0: Power with Purpose’, the event attracted premier partner Mastercard, joining forces with FORBES WOMAN AFRICA after a successful collaboration at the FORBES WOMAN AFRICA Regional Forum 2019 – A Leading Women Summit Initiative, held in Kigali, Rwanda in August 2019.
Zamani Holdings and Avon Justine, as first time sponsors, also brought their leadership expertise to the day’s discussions with Charmaine Mabuza, Co-founder and Group CEO of Zamani Holdings and Mafahle Mareletse, Group Vice President TMEA & General Manager, Avon joining the panel discussion on The Role of Male Feminists In Gender Strategies in Corporate Africa.
The annual summit is an editorialised event which gives attendees the chance to physically engage with the hard-hitting stories and inspiring people that feature on every page of Forbes Africa. The 2020 edition welcomed more than 40 leading women for a high-impact speaking programme, which included, among others, South African Minister of International Relations, Dr Naledi Pandor; South African television personality, philanthropist and businesswoman, Bonang Matheba; South African musician, DJ Zinhle; and Dr Judy Dlamini, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Mbekani Group.
